The Living Art Of Pacific Tattoo is an exhibition of outstanding Ta Moko, Tatau and Tattoo documentary, photographic and moving image artworks curated by Steven Ball.
Now in his 10th exhibition edition, this show explores Ta Moko, Tatau and Tattoo communities within Aotearoa/New Zealand and the Pacific. Photographers, Tattooists, Anthropologists, Artists and Film - makers share their passion for documenting tattoo art.
The Living Art Of Pacific Tattoo was first exhibited at Tattoonesia Festival 2005 in Moorea French Polynesia. Since then it has travelled to The Milan, Amsterdam and London Conventions during 2006. It has also been shown at Te Karanga Gallery, Mangere Art Centre, Fresh Gallery Otara in Auckland, Taketake Gallery Whakatane and Mia Gallery Napier.
Participating in the 10th edition show will be Mark Adams, Tricia Allen, Marsha Angou, Steven Ball, Amanda Di Fornal, Sebastian Galliot, Norman Heke/Julie Kipa, Lonnie Hutchinson/Bonni Tamati, Makiko Kuwahara, George Nuku, Becky Nunes, Greg Semu, Serena Stevenson, Makarita Urale and Jos Wheele.r
